"Fear can hit targets unreachable to bullets."

Enjoys watching enemies scatter before him as he dives down from the sky... considers spreading fear his greatest weapon. This Dinobot's kind, good-natured side disguised by his horrifing form... even his comrades shy away. Flies at 250mph... air-to-air missile launcher under each wing fires missiles equivalent of 5000lbs. TNT, 8 mile range. As robot, uses launchers and 4000 degrees Celcius thermal sword. Fragile wings vulnerable to enemy firepower.

Likes
- excellent bot mode; very proportionate
- some G1 homage
- beast wings are articulated and look good in bot mode too
- bot mode can stand fairly well despite the flimsiness
- Hasbro could've packed this as an Ultra (e.g. bulkhead) by expanding Swoop's wings and Grimlock's legs in the packaging, but they didn't. Some more, Mega Dinobot mode is a bonus.

Dislikes
- no weapons
- slightly limited articulation
- somewhat flimsy

Mega Dinobot
- very little spare parts to hide, unlike other combining bots in the Energon series
- very flimsy!
- transformation design is fairly ingenious, if not for the lack of sturdiness; should've stayed in the drawing board longer
- limited articulation
- colours are too kiddish; they should've painted Swoop in red/grey scheme as well, which is true to its G1 affiliation
- bot head is positioned too much to the front
- Swoop's wings could've been better utilised
